Photography

Before this semester, I had never used Photoshop, Corel Painter, or any other the other programs we worked with; it was all new to me. In general, I am not very good with computers including basic technology skills. I learned so much in this class and it improved my technological skills a lot! As you will see, some of my projects weren't the best, but I believe I got better and became more familiar with the different tools and techniques as the semester continued. Thank you for teaching me so much!

I learned the very basics of creating a background and cutting myself out. I learned how to use the lasso tool to select different parts of the picture. I was trying to give it a background that would bring out the colors in the scarf and make my face pop. I struggled with cutting it out in the very beginning.
This was my first space scape where I learned how to form text into a ring and I learned a lot of effects like placing my head on the planet and creating rings around the planet. I struggled with putting my face on the planet and I learned how to use the rendering tool to do the little lights in the background. I tried to make the purple planet look like it had water on it.
Here I learned different kind of effects for the colors and different patterns and the arrangement and placement of the different shapes. I struggled with the texture of the planets and getting them just right. I learned how to use the rendering tool. I tried to make the planets look similar but at the same time different.

I worked to perfect the art of creating the rings for planets and using the colors to make things "pop". I used the rendering tool to do the dots of light on the rings of the planet. I struggled with the blending of the planets. I tried to make the green planet look like it was closer up than the planet with the rings.

By making the color wheel I learned about tones, shades, tints, complementary, analogous combinations, and complementary mixes. This taught me a lot about the relationships between the different colors. I struggled with the complementary mix part of the project. I tried to make the tones, tints, and shades look bright and perfect.

This showed me how to use and create brushes and how to mix and blur colors together. I used different kinds of brushes and I struggled with the leaves on the side of the picture. I tried to make the sky look like a sunrise or sunset.

This showed me how to blend and vary the colors for a little more of a "realistic" look. I learned how to create brushes like my grass brush that I used. I struggled with the mountains int he back and how to make it look like there was snow on them. I was trying to make the mountains look like they were in the distance.

This taught me to take my creations and warp them. I struggled with making the shadows just right and making them look more realistic. I was trying to make it look like it was in a globe. I struggled with blending the mountains with the ground.

This taught me to create shadows and manipulate pictures to be able to use them in my artwork. I struggled with the shadow shapes and making them look like the plant and I tried to make it look like it was in a desert somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. I struggled with the shape of the shadows.

I learned how to use photoshop and create more backgrounds. I also learned about the history of pop art and how Andy Warhol was a major influence on the art industry. I learned how to make the eyes look more realistic and how to use photoshop to make a pop art. I was trying to use the background to make myself pop out by using a completely different color. I struggled with the skin tone of the face.

I learned how to use flash to outline and export my picture to photoshop to color it and create a background! I wanted my face and shirt to stand out, so I used a color in the background that would make the shirt color stand out. I struggled with the background.
I learned how to create flash pop art and I learned how to use comic life delux to make the speech bubble, but I struggled with it and what to write. I was trying to make a picture that people who have to look at twice and do a retake. The tongue always trips people up.

This is my Lion and Dog Animation where I learned how to create an animation by using flash art and recording myself to play the jokes. I struggled with recording myself and what joke to say. I tried to make the lion look a little more like a lion by coloring it. I struggled with the animation as a whole also.

This is my surrealism. I learned how to blend the background to look like it was swirling. I colored and drew the frog. I tried to make it look like I was thinking about the impossible and how it would look. I struggled with the frog and drawing it.

I had extra time so I chose to put my head on a giraffe. I used the stamp tool to make the spots on my face and photoshopped the ears onto my head. I also changed the color of the background to more match my giraffe color. I struggled with making the ears look like they really belonged on my head. I tried to make it look more realistic than not.

For my last project, I chose to place my head on a dinosaur and I used photoshop to put the sharp teeth in my mouth. I used the stamp tool to make the scales on my face. I used the paint tool to make my eyes and the background of my eyes. I changed the color of the background to match my face more. I struggled with the eyes. I tried to make it look realistic.
